Dhamma Propagation and Vegetarian Festival (21 Oct. - 30 Oct)

During the Vegetarian Festival MPV student Club organised evening Chanting, Dhamma Talks and discussions for the public who came to consume vegetarian food in the eveninnig at MPV premises. Students from different Buddhist countries did the evening chanting in their own language including Thai, Hindi, Sinhalese, Cambodian and Vietnamese.

Students from the MCU Program at Wat Kohong participated in a dialogue on Buddhist Education in Thailand in Thai language. Some Dhamma Talks were given in English and simultaneously translated into Thai by Pra.Vijak.

Deputy Rector’s visit

Pra Maha Somchit, the Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University paid a visit to MPV on October 13, 2006.


In the morning the Deputy Rector engaged in a meeting with MPV Administrators including Pra Maha Phol Titabo (Director of MPV), Pra Kru Pitak and Ven.Ongpotjanagongosol, the authorised founder of MPV.

In the afternoon the venerable gave a special lecture and conducted a Question and Answer session with students.

Celebrate H.E. The King’s 60th Annivasary

Student Participated in the religious ceremony and retreat to celebrate H.E. The King’s 60th Annivasary of the succession to the throne

The retreat and religious ceremony held at Kao Long, the Provincial Retreat Center of Songkla was attended by the Senior monks and Government Officials of the province. MPV students’ participation was a prominent feature in the program.

The Entrance Examination - Interview

The Entrance Examination which consisted of English and Buddhism & General Knowledge Test Papers was held on June 8 followed by the interview in the afternoon.

New semester begins with new students from 6 Asian countries

Mahapanya Vidayalai (MPV) opened it’s first semester in year 2006 on June 12, 2006 with new students who come from various Asian Countries including Thailand, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Cambodia and Bangladesh, a mixture of Theravada and Mahayana Buddhist traditions.
